Evident from the name that they are a strong protection against storms and other natural elements and insects, storm doors are also an effective measure for beautifying homes and to enhance ventilation. They definitely are not much of a security measure, but exterior and interior storm doors have been found to delay intruders to a great extent. Both the exterior and interior storm doors come insulated and are usually between 5/8th and 1 3/4 inches in thickness.
