As per the established theory, there are four elements in a marketing mix, that is: PRODUCT PRICE PLACE & PROMOTION ‘DISTRIBUTION’ is the sub-element of PLACE, generally overlooked by many teachers in the class room. There are some teachers of marketing who also include the sub-elements of PROMOTION MIX in the same category, like packaging, etc which in fact develops a lateral thinking.
