What are the advantages & disadvantages of internet?
Any form of communications has its bias. It is not always just the medium that makes the difference. For example the printed word comes in many forms, books and newspaper to name a few. The message offered by books is often time narrow in scope, while newspapers give the headlines and highlights (fireworks and glitter if you will). Books challenge the reader to learn more, stay a while and become familiar with the subject. Newspapers offer “mind candy”. Junk food for the brain that tells us what army has attacked its neighbor, what evil villain we should look out for. Tabloids are even worse. Television also has a bias for the spectacular. Tonight, while you sit down to watch your favorite program count the number of screen shots that change in a 5 minute period. Count the time between commercials. What is it 10 minutes.
