What are the advantages of SECURITRE over ADAESI?
Customers have told us that ADAESI is somewhat inflexible with regard to dataset names used in the SSF. SECURITRE allows great flexibility with regard to dataset names. It appears that ADAESI does not secure ADABAS Utilities or NATURAL, while SECURITRE does. With ADAESI, a site must purchase NSS in order to get some measure of control over NATURAL. NSS does not store its rules in the SSF, which means that it adds another security rule base to the site, undermining the purpose of ADAESI. ADAESI seems to provide only rudimentary support for ADABAS file/field security. SECURITRE goes beyond this to encompass other issues, such as Program Pathing.
