A. There are many advantages for using an aluminum pole. First, the total installed cost of an aluminum street lighting pole is less than a concrete pole. Second, an aluminum pole is less in weight versus a comparable concrete pole. Third, an aluminum pole is relative corrosion free. There is no reinforcing material that will rust if exposed to air and water. Fourth, these poles are easier to replace (if necessary) that concrete poles.
