What are the ages of the children available for adoption and are they healthy?
The average age of the children available for adoption in Brazil are mostly younger school age children, siblings and children with special needs. There may be some toddler age children available in the orphanages, but this is not as common.. The children are generally healthy. Because they have been in an orphanage/institutional setting and have little or no prenatal care, it is not uncommon for them to have physical or developmental delays, colds, upper respiratory infections, rashes, etc. Most adoptive families report that their children flourished in their development shortly after placement.
