What are the Anglo-Saxon countries?
Five core English-speaking countries have a common socio-political heritage: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. All of the above except the United Kingdom were former colonies of the UK. Occasionally, linguists classify South Africa, Ireland, India, and the English-speaking countries of the Caribbean, Oceania, and Africa as part of the Anglo-sphere, although English is often the second language of the majority of their citizens. In India, for example, Hindu is the official language, but English is a subsidiary official language. P. S. The Angles settled in Northumbria, Mercia, and East Anglia. The Saxons populated Wessex, Essex, and Sussex while the Jutes colonized Kent. See: http://en.wikipedia.
