What are the benefits for the residents who live in the EZ?
The $100 million in federal grants will be used to improve the quality of life for residents within the EZ through service projects, which include; job training, youth recreation opportunities and homeless intervention and more. The EZ plan is part of revitalization efforts for the City of Detroit. The City’s designation as an Empowerment Zone, as well as the infusion of both public and private funding, is an example of the unprecedented community and economic partnerships that will help restore and revitalize the City (see Benefits for Residents to find out more information).
