The benefits in having your hydraulic cylinders repaired or refurbished are: Cost effective – especially for the larger units. Better seal replacements – you can have your seals upgraded from the original seals and/or install additional wear bands creating greater longevity. Replace existing chrome-plated shafting – many manufacturers use chrome-plated shafting which is not as durable as induction hard chrome. The surface finish of the shafting can have a great effect on the life of the seals. If the surface has damage or if the roughness is too high or too low, it can create an unacceptable level of leakage. Bent rods are another issue for many. 25% of cylinder rod-seal failures are caused by bent rods. For heavy industrial use, having the shafting replaced will create usage longevity.
