• Through the implementation of a Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, mandatory Continuing Education requirements and Conflict of Interest guidelines, which will apply to all EHO/PHI’s in BC, the College will help to ensure high standards are maintained in the profession. A College may result in greater recognition of the profession from employers, other colleges, associations and educational institutions as well as an increased profile for the profession. • The main function of a College is to protect the public by ensuring all EHO/PHI’s are qualified and maintain their competence through continuing education.
