Eczema is a chronic condition, and there is no “cure”. It can come back at any time, even if you manage to suppress it completely. However, there are things you can do to minimize your symptoms, even without medications like steroids: 1) Moisturize. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. The thicker the moisturizer the better. Shower as little as you can, and apply moisturizer immediately after towel drying. 3) Jump on symptom areas immediately when they appear. The longer the eczema is flaring, the worse it will get, and the harder it will be to get it back under control. 4) Although some may recommend various other gels or creams, the only one I know that was proven to be better than placebo in a double blind, placebo controlled trial was a licorice gel.
