What are the best stretches/exercises for lower back or SI joint pain?
Location of pain is a poor indicator as to what is the best directed treatment. If it were, it would make my job a lot easier. Most back pain is mechanical, meaning it is affected by movement and positions. The movements and positions that affect it positively or negatively will vary between individuals. Rather than take a bunch of random, non-sensical advice, I’d highly recommend learning what is appropriate for YOU to do by seeing a physical therapist. More specifically, I’d recommend someone who is certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (www.mckenziemdt.org). A few brief sessions will help you learn what is appropriate for you, as an individual, to work on and not some cook-book type of approach.
