There are no building regulations with respect to installing a macerator toilet other than part c of the electrical code. This calls for a qualified electrician to install any new electric spurs that are required to run the pump. However if you have a convenient power point, plug socket etc you can install the unit yourself. The waste water from the toilet needs to go to a convenient foul water drain, you can use the shower pipe but you will need to install a non return valve or an anti syphon fitting in the pipe work of the shower to stop the toilet water from returning up the drain of the shower.
