The statutory laws of California consist of acts passed by the California Legislature or by the California electorate through the initiative process. Statutes are organized by subject and published in the California Codes. What is the California Code of Regulations? The California Code of Regulations is the rules and procedures promulgated by state agencies which allow the implementation of statutes. Regulations are a binding source of law similar to statutes and cases.
