A valid DMIF implementation must comply with the semantics of the DAI. In case the DMIF implementation is intended to operate on a networked scenario, it must also comply with the syntax and semantics of the particular DS messages syntax selected for that network or any corresponding protocol standards to which the semantics can be mapped to. Similarly if a DMIF implementation is also to operate in a broadcast scenario, it must also comply with the specifications of that particular broadcast technique. The same applies for Local File Systems.
