What are the consequences if the bond fails?
It will only cost more to make these repairs and renovate our schools at a later date. If Proposition S fails and construction is delayed 2 years until a new bond can be put on the ballot, the projected increase in costs (assuming construction inflation of 6% annually) will exceed $250 million. In addition, if the bond fails, the schools will lose a chance to obtain state matching funds.
