What are the consequences of an ageing population?
Pensions will keep on decreasing as there are so many elderly people needing money, the amount will have to go down. Also pensioners will have to keep on working till they are much older than ever before as they can’t afford to live off the government. Old Peoples Homes will become very full and more will need to be opened due to many more elderly people needing assistance. The steady increase of older age groups in national populations, both in absolute numbers and in relation to the working-age population, will have a direct bearing on relationships within families, equity across generations, lifestyles, and the family solidarity that is the foundation of society. Population ageing will continue to affect health and health care, family composition and living arrangements, housing and migration.
