The core and elective requirements for the Masters of Science in Communications Management are as follows: Core requirements (21 credits): • MCOM 605, Theory of Public Relations and Organizational Communication (3) • MCOM 603, Research Methods in Mass Communication (3) • MCOM 606, Practice of Public Relations and Organizational Communication (3) • MNGT 601, Administrative Theory and Practice (3) • MCOM 685, Managing Strategic Public Relations and Integrated Communications Campaigns (3) Plus six hours of a thesis supervised by a member of the faculty in Mass Communications and Communication Studies, or Management and Marketing: • MCOM 898 (1-6), Thesis is used if the student expects to complete the work in two semesters. MCOM 898 can be taken twice for a total of six credits. • If the student cannot finish the thesis in two semester, the student must register for MCOM 899, Thesis Continuum, for one credit per additional semester.
