What are the costs and processes associated with registration of title deeds to land with a government agency?
As identified above, a purchaser will be required to pay registration, stamp and transcription duties of Rs 1,200 (approximately £18) on signature of final contracts. The notarial deed is signed at that time and registered with the Registrar General’s Department by the notary. The purchaser will also be required to pay the notary’s fees of approximately 0.5% of the purchase price plus VAT. A further USD $25,000 (as identified above) becomes payable on the transfer of legal title of the land to the Buyer which will be attested by another notarial deed and duly registered. Mr. G Allain D. De Speville has been retained by MPR as the Notary for the above purpose.
