What are the criteria for cost-sharing the transportation of an accompanying medical attendant for the safe transport of an ECHO beneficiary?
Reimbursement for transportation of an accompanying medical attendant is based on TriWest’s determination that such an attendant is necessary to ensure the safe transport of the beneficiary. TriWest may establish additional criteria at its discretion. References in the TRICARE Reimbursement Manual are to non-medical attendants, which cannot be authorized under ECHO.
