What are the dark lines around my baseboards and under some doors?
Filtration Soil. If you have light colored carpet you may have experienced these dark lines that appear mostly around the edge of baseboards and under doorways. This soiling comes from air trapped under your carpet from your heating and cooling system. The soiling occurs as the air passes through the carpet fiber. This generally occurs over a significant period of time and isn’t noticed until a buildup has occurred. This type of soiling is difficult to remove but can be with the use of special products, time and effort. To prevent filtration soiling vacuum and clean the edges of the carpeting on a regular basis.
