The difference among Lifestyle® models are primarily the speaker styles and whether the system can store music on an internal hard disk. The Lifestyle® 28 has sleek, dual-cube direct/reflecting® speakers. The Lifestyle® 38 has the same great speakers and adds 200 hours of storage of music from your CD collection. The Lifestyle® 48 provides even more music storage (340 hours) and has even smaller (yet more dramatic) Jewel Cube® speakers. All have a built in FM/AM tuner and DVD/CD players. The V Series (V20 & V30) have built in FM/AM tuners but don't have built-in DVD/CD players. They allow you to add your own choice of component, such as a Blu-ray high definition DVD/CD player. See this link for a Bose Home Theater Comparison.
