• Live images provide a subset of packages available in the regular CD/DVD images. Both connect to the same repository that has all the packages. • Live image installations do not allow any package selection or upgrade capability since they copy entire the filesystem from media to hard disk or USB disks. After the installation is complete and booted into, packages can be added and removed as desired with PackageKit or yum.
