What are the differences between social and biological anthropology?

At the school I went to they divided it into biological and cultural. I am going to assume that our cultural anthropology is similar to what your school is calling social anthropology. Cultural/social anthropology is about studying people and their cultures. This includes language (though there is also linguistics for this), religions, traditions, values, interactions between members of the group, etc. Biological anthropology includes fossils, evolution, how our current biology influences behavior and social interactions. If the class says Anthropology 101 or Intro to Anthropology or something along those lines, yes, it will most likely be a cross between the various sub-specialties of anthropology.
