What are the differences between the Applied Kinesiology, the Exercise Science and the Exercise Physiology options within the major?

Applied Kinesiology requires 3 fewer labs than the other two options but requires 9 credits of electives, 6 of which must be at the 300+ level (i.e., Junior and Senior level courses). In effect, it reduces the number of labs required to fulfill the major and increases the flexibility of choices of electives. It may save you an entire semester if you have not qualified for Exercise Testing and Prescription, a course taught only in the Fall of ones senior year and which requires Exercise Physiology as a prerequisite. Exercise Science is more clinically oriented requiring 5 courses with a behavioral emphasis, courses not found in the Exercise Physiology Option (General Psychology, Psychology of Sport & Exercise, Motor Learning, Movement Experiences for Individuals with Disabilities and your choice of either a Management or Administration course. Exercise Physiology is more research oriented and has five courses with a quantitative emphasis that are not found in the Exercise Science Option
