What are the differences between the Boss GT3 and the GT5?

1

The Boss GT3 is newer than the GT5. It has a few different effects including the Auto Riff which lets you just play one note and it will create a riff for you. The new Slicer effect on the GT3 takes a line or riff you play, and rearranges the riff in a different order, great for an industrial type sound. The GT3 also has Pickup Simulators, a Feedback Eliminator and Acoustic Guitar effects. The GT5 has Looping and Mic Modeling which are not found on the GT3. The GT5 also has a programmable effects loop so you can place external effects into any point in the signal chain. This is a powerful feature, especially for studio players. If you’re planning to use your new effect box on stage, this features may not be worth the extra money it costs to get into a GT5. There are 14 amp models on the GT3 and the GT5 has 13. You can play 13 effects at the same time on the GT3 and 14 on the GT5. There are 200 factory presets on the GT3 and 150 on the GT5.
