What are the differences between the MDE Program and the Multidisciplinary Engineering Program?

0

Officially, MDE is currently a concentration within the Multidisciplinary Engineering program. However, MDE offers a more integrated approach, with more breadth and less depth in a given topic than the other concentrations. The MDE program is the only concentration for which specific courses are being developed. In the MDE program you will be exposed to emerging technologies, including Purdue’s eight signature areas, especially during semesters 7 and 8. Multidisciplinary Engineering allows you to develop a plan of study around a specific, focused topic; MDE does not, although in MDE you can follow various tracks.
