Veins are larger size than venules but they do the same thing, return deoxygenated (non oxygenated) blood to the lungs to get rid of carbon dioxide and pick up fresh new oxygen to distribute back to the heart and body (via arteries). Venules are small veins that carry the deoxygenated blood to the veins.
