What are the different levels at chess club?
We accept all children, from those who have never played before to those who want to play in tournaments. Typically we have grouped the recreational players into two groups, beginning and advanced. The first few sessions of Chess Club will be spent assigning students to either the Beginner (Max. 20 students) or Advanced (Max. 20 students) groups based on each student’s relative skill level. For those students with the skill and temperament for competitive chess, We also have a Tournament Team group (Max. 20 students). Given the added rigor that the team training requires, admission to the team is at the discretion of Club Coordinators and Instructors.
