What are the different platings on the pen components?
My preferred platings are platinum (chrome appearance) and titanium (gold appearance). I have used 24k gold plating in the past only to be disappointed by the noticeable wear patterns after about six months of regular use. You will pay a little extra upfront but you can expect the platings on the pen components to last as long as you own it. The Ligero style pen has some plastic parts which make the pen significantly lighter and unique in appearance. The plastic should never show any wear except for normal scratches and nicks through normal use.
