What are the different qualities and characteristics of male and female gerbils?
When I had gerbils, I noticed that the females tended to want to run around more and climb. They loved getting to explore the house in their ball. The females were more active overall. My males were a bit more laid back, even lazy at times. They loved human attention and cuddling. One male in particular, Moon Man, was my favorite because he would come up to the glass when he saw me walk into the room as if to ask me to take him out to cuddle. He would sometimes just curl up on my chest and go to sleep. Both genders make excellent pets and can be very friendly. They all have their unique personalities, though, so don’t just expect a gerbil to act a certain way just because of its gender.
