What are the different types of cloth diapers?
There are many different styles of cloth diapers. Flats are the original cloth diaper. A flat is a large piece of cloth that looks like an infant blanket. It is folded several times and placed on baby by means of a diaper pin or other closure device, such as a Snappi. To prevent leaks, a diaper cover is recommended over a flat. Prefolds are small, rectangular pieces of cotton twill which have been sewn to easily fold before placing on baby. They can be closed with a pin, a Snappi, or simply placed inside a diaper cover. To prevent leaks, a diaper cover is recommended over a prefold. Fitted or contoured diapers are already in the shape of a diaper and require no folding. Simply place the diaper on the baby. Some require a Snappi or pin to close, but frequently have hook & loop or snap closures and do not. To prevent leaks, a diaper cover is recommended over fitted or contoured diapers. Diaper covers and diaper wraps are waterproof and frequently have elastic around the waist and leg ope
