What are the disadvantages of storing documents in hard-copy form?

I don’t even know where to begin to tell you about the disadvantages of physical copy – how about the amount of space that you’ll need to keep all this stuff in storage? And all the trees that you’ll be killing in order to print things out to the physical just to have it in hand? Some things are required to be signed in person, but even now there are digital and verifiable ways of doing this without having to touch a scrap of paper. I would try as best as I could to reduce my carbon footprint if I were you!

The question should more appropriately read, “what are the benefits of storing documents in hard-copy form?” Outside of industry-specific requirements, there is no logical reason to keep hard-copy documents on site. Hard-Copy documents take up too much space in the office, waste too much of employees’ time while trying to find particular documents, and cost too much money to keep organized. If your company is worried about holding onto hard-copy documents for audit purposes, worry no more. Document Nation will not only store your files on the internet for you to access anytime but we will hold onto your hard-copy files for as long as you please. We’ll even shred them when they no longer needed. And as for industry-specific requirements – Document Nation is staffed with an in-house Compliance Team, which monitors and maintains the regulations regarding electronic file storage for every industry, and in every state.
