What are the Environmental Issues associated with Aqueous Parts Cleaning?
The environmental issues surrounding aqueous cleaning of parts are mostly centred on the chemical ingredients and their discharge into the waste stream. There are opportunities today to limit the impact on the waste stream either through selecting aqueous cleaners that prolong their life or adding a special waste treatment process to the facility. Several important factors must be considered concerning discharge of used cleaning solutions such as their ability to degrade, there aquatic toxicity and their potential for depletion of oxygen in water.
