What are the essentials for my baby in the first year?
Don’t buy too many 0-3 month baby clothes. The 6 month size may be a little large at first, but the baby will grow into them so fast. Go for simple, comfortable cotton clothes (like little sleepers, shirts, pants that are easy to slip on and off). You will need receiving blankets (10-12 would be good). You will want some cute little boy clothes, but you will find that most of the time you will probably put the baby in sleepers or soft onesies with pull on pants (like little sweat pants) for comfort. Skip the bassinet. It’s really a waste of money. They don’t use them very long and they are too easy to tip over. A baby swing can be a lifesaver. A bouncy seat or vibrating seat is good. My daughter swears by baby slings and a boppy. Get a good diaper bag that will fasten on to the handle of a stroller.
