What Are the Functions of the Biceps Tendon?

0

The biceps tendon attaches the biceps muscle to the shoulder and the elbow. The Southern California Orthopedic Institute defines the biceps tendon as “a long, cord-like structure which is located in the front of the shoulder. It originates from the top of the shoulder socket (the glenoid) and exits the joint through a bony trough (the biceps groove). Below the shoulder, this tendon becomes the long head of the biceps muscle.” It is also prone to injury, either through overuse or age, as the elasticity of the tendon diminishes as you get older.
