What are the general social attitudes towards interracial relationships?
Overall, minorities appear to be more accepting of interracial relationships than Caucasian-Americans. This is evidenced by larger proportions of minorities involved in interracial relationships than Caucasian-Americans (U.S. Census Bureau, 2000), as well as many studies reporting more accepting attitudes towards interracial contact among minorities (Gaines, & Leaver, 2002; Baldwin, Day, & Hecht, 2000; Pinkney, 1993).
