What are the guidelines for healthy eating?
Healthy eating means:- • Enjoying your food • Eating a variety of different foods • Eating the right amount to be a healthy weight • Eating plenty of starchy foods like bread, pasta, rice and potatoes • Eating plenty of fruit and vegetables • Not eating too many foods that contain a lot of fat • Not having sugary foods and drinks too often • Not eating too much salt, or too many foods that are high in salt. Unfortunately, not many of us follow this advice! National surveys show that we are eating too much fat, sugar and salt, and not enough fruit and vegetables and fibre.
