What are the Homeschooling Options?
You do not need a packaged curriculum in order to homeschool successfully and you are free to choose any method of instruction that best suits you and your child. Common options are: -using a home-based education package (eg. ABEKA, Alpha Omega) -adopting a child-centered learning program. (The subject matter, length of time in different areas and types of resources are determined by the individual child’s interests and abilities.) -following the Manitoba Curriculum Guide (which can be viewed at the Robert Fletcher Building, 1181 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg) for the appropriate grade level. -using a combination of the above.
