Starting 2005: Member states have to establish and maintain registers of producers and, every two years, provide the European Commission (EC) with information on the quantities of products put on the market, collected, reused, recycled or otherwise recovered. Every three years, starting in 2007, member states have to report on their implementation of the directive.
