What are the living arrangements like at MYC?
MYC has five cabin groups spanning 4th grade through college, separated by gender. Boys and men are housed on one side of the campsite and girls and women are on another. The cabin groupings are: Juniors (4th6th grade), Junior High (7th & 8th grade), Senior (9th & 10th grade), Senior High (11th & 12th grade), College (undergraduate), and Post-Graduate (all those past undergraduate years). For the Junior through College cabins, there are at least two counselors living with the campers for the entire week, making sure they are supervised, supported, and inspired in various ways. The post-graduate cabins are for our adult participants, including our staff. Campers under 9 years old must reside with a parent in one of the post-graduate adult cabins. We do not allow families to stay in one cabin together, as we feel it is important for everyone to interact with peers and build friendships.
