What are the main features of the geography, demography, and ethnicity of North America?
Geographically, North America extends from Canada through Mexico, although neither is as geographically fortunate as the United States. North America has several climatic zones from the arctic north down through temperate, arid and southern tropics zones nearer the equator. Well over half these climates are good for agriculture. North America has lots of waterways, with rivers. lakes and coastlines facilitating cheap transportation that facilitates transportation. Except for the Rocky Mountains in the west, there are few mountainous obstacles for moving across the continent, a process that was helped enormously by the railroad in the 19th century and automotive engines and aviation in the 20th century. Above all, North America has an abundance of natural resources: lots of timber and wildlife, crucial to the early modern period from the 1500s to the 1700s; the worlds largest supply of coal, which was vital to industrialization since the 1800s. Mexico is a country rich in oil. All kinds
