Specialized nursing units within branches of the United States military are called Nurse Corps. There are different Nurse Corps for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. Members of the Nurse Corps become members of the military. Nurses in the Marine Corps become commissioned Navy officers; Army Nurse Corps members become commissioned Army officers. Different Nurse Corps have different requirements to serve. Some are open to nurses at any stage of their careers, from students still working toward their degrees to experienced nurses, while others require bachelor of science in nursing degrees, licenses and experience.
