What are the most common Bee and Wasp species found in Britain?
The most common types of bees are Honey bees, Bumble bees, Ground or Mining bees, Masonry bees, Leaf Cutter bees and Cuckoo bees. The Honey bees and Bumble bees are types of social bee who live in colonies as opposed to the other bees that exist as solitary individuals. There are six species of wasp commonly found in the UK but only three are likely to enter buildings. The most obvious types of wasp are the ‘Common’ Wasp, German Wasp and Hornet.
