What are the most critical issues facing teachers in the classroom today?
There are many critical issues. The more I talk to people, the more I learn how complicated this is. Everyone I have met has an opinion on education. Not everyone can talk about religion or sports or the weather but everyone has something to say about education, and mostly it is negative right now. I think this is just wrong. We cannot as a society place all of our concerns or fears on the backs of teachers and our children. Teachers are expected to wear so many hats in the classroom: social worker, mediator, translator, fundraiser. It’s a miracle that they have time to be educators.
