What are the names of the gas stations that Exxon & Mobil own?
Could be anybody. No matter the advertising hype, gas is pretty much a fungible commodity and what comes out of any pump can come from anywhere. Even the local convenience store or off brand station may be getting their gas from the same tank farm as the EXXON/Mobil stations. And EXXON/Mobil doesn’t own most of the branded stations. They are mostly independently owned by local franchisees. Most oil companies dumped the company owned stations when they found out that it was more profitable to sell the franchises and products to local owners. And even the stations that are “company owned” probably aren’t owned by EXXON/Mobil. Title will be in a subsidiary, holding company or commercial trust. So even searching the title won’t always tell you who the “real” owner is. As political matter, you might have some effect by avoiding branded stations but, as a practical matter, you probably won’t be hurting anybody but the local guy who owns the franchise. He’ll still have to pay EXXON/Mobil whet
