What are the opportunities for parental involvement at LCS?
School volunteers are used in many capacities throughout the school. These include but are not limited to: • Parent League: Responsibilities include fundraising events, quarterly social gatherings, monthly meetings, organization of parent volunteers, spirit wear, grandparents day, teacher luncheons, community outreach, weekly student pizza lunch, holiday gift shop, and teacher appreciation week. • Room Mom/Dad: Communicate with the teacher and other classroom parents. Parent League representative for that classroom. Coordinating holiday room parties. Initiate “calling tree”, which is the process of contacting students regarding special events and school closings. • Recess/Lunchroom Aides: Responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly lunchroom and recess environment. • Classroom Aides: Assist the teacher by providing clerical support. Work with individual students and/or small groups. • Arrival/Dismissal Aides for Half-Day Programs (Preschool & PreK): Assist students in exiting or ent
