Georgia license plates (tags) remain with the vehicle's owner(s) and not the vehicle. You will be subject to fines of up to $100.00 (if stopped by law enforcement) if you fail to transfer your tag between vehicles or you fail to register and purchase a new tag within thirty-days (30) of the vehicle's purchase or acquisition date.
