What are the possible reasons that computer usage in most of organizations can lead or contribute to unemployment?
In general it is not true that computer usage leads to unemployment in organizations. There is only one way in which computer usage can reduce the need for manpower and therefor lead to unemployment. But usually computer usage usually helps to improve business performance. This leads to expansion of business, and with that, increase in manpower. Further, use of computer also frequently directed towards improvement in performance of people rather than reduction in man power requirement. Computer usage reduces manpower requirement for the job performed by the computers only when it is used for performing data processing tasks that were earlier done manually.Computers performs these tasks much faster, economically, and with substantially lower manpower inputs as compared to processing of the same data manually. The is the only reason for which computer usage can contribute to unemployment.
