What are the possible side effects of Rebetron (Interferon Alfa 2b Ribavirin)?
If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop using interferon alfa-2b and ribavirin and seek emergency medical attention or notify your doctor immediately: an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives); or chest pain or shortness of breath Interferon alfa-2b and ribavirin may cause anemia, which is a decrease in the number of red blood cells in the body. This can be dangerous, especially for patients who already have heart or circulatory problems. Your doctor will want to check your red blood cell count before starting and periodically during treatment. Talk to your doctor before taking this medication if you have or have ever had any heart or circulatory problems.
